Many were Puritan followers of Rev. Thomas Hooker of Chelmsford, County Essex, and suffered in the Old Country because of their religious views. Genealogical information is given on the immigrant as well as through four additional generations of his or her descendants. A variety of records from primary and secondary sources were searched in an effort to bring together into one handy reference all known information about the forty-two original passengers. (Passengers without descendants are included so far as information is available.)
