Elections, in general, be it national or local to elect could be said to be one of the major mechanisms by which societies are effectively linked with the key institutions of the state due to the fact that election serves as one, if not the most important mechanism through which leaders are held accountable by their electorates and as such it is expected that greater attention is given to all types of elections conducted.
