The expansion of part-time faculty in academia demonstrates a need for research in this area. The purpose was to identify the roles of part-time faculty in baccalaureate nursing programs in the Midwest using Boyer s model of scholarship. The population included 518 nursing faculty and administrators from 25 colleges and universities in Ohio and Michigan with similar Carnegie classifications. 234 of the mailed surveys were voluntarily returned for a response rate of 45.2%.
