The main characteristic of these specifications that that they use interoperable processes and full interoperable data exchanges, which allow to share information across different domains and specifications. The S-Series of IPS specifications goes beyond the traditional Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and addresses not only the preparation for the service, but also the support during the in-service phase. Even more, it adds a feedback loop in order to perform in-service optimization of the traditional ILS.
