The currently accepted surgical procedures for sigmoid volvulus include resection with primary anastomosis or resection and Hartman procedure. The other methods are Paul-Mikulicz procedure, sigmoidopexy, mesosigmoidoplasty, extraperitonealization of sigmoid colon, mesenteropexy, laparoscopic fixation and percutaneous endoscopic colopexy usingcolonscopy. The aim of this study is to determine the various outcome of various methods sigmoid volvulus and to search for a relatively safe, easy and economic protocol which can be adopted in Bangladesh.
