The book is about optimization of groundwater water use in a watershed. The approach includes understanding the relationship between groundwater extraction and cropping systems practiced in watershed statistically. This understanding might help in designing policy interventions. Based on the identification of cropping systems significantly affecting groundwater withdrawal, the study suggests water saving by allocation of water based on water productivity.

Autor

Born on July 7, 1964 the author completed schooling and later acquired the degrees of B. Sc. (Ag) and M.Sc. Ag. (Agricultural Economics) from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar and Ph. D. in Economics from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. Presently he is working as Principal Scientist (Agril Econ).
