The structure of the fabricated solar cells are ITO/ ZnO-CdS quantum dots and Cu doped ZnO-CdS quantum dots Pt electrode. The efficiency of CdS quantum dot sensitized 6% Cu doped ZnO nanoparticle based solar cell was found to be 1.29% with a short circuit current density of 4.87 mA/cm2, open circuit voltage 0.52 V and fill factor 0.50. The improved efficiency of 6% Cu doped ZnO nanoparticle quantum dot sensitized solar, Copper atoms creates a trap-state mediator in the ZnO nanostructures for favoring in the faster charge transfer rates and facile the low energetic electrons easily moved forward as well.
