This small collection is a supplement to the volume "Justified in the midst of the world - Sermons of a natural scientist", published 2011 by Fromm-Verlag. It presents 12 sermons for the Old Year's Eve between 2001 and 2017, with the yearly sermons for the following New Year. The sermons were held in the Wachtberg Protestant Church in the sermon rooms of the Old Church of St. Gereon in Berkum and in the Church of Mercy in Pech.
