The police warn him of a brutal murder, a missing hiker, and a killer roaming the woods near his cabin. While Rook becomes closer than ever to his friends and explores a blossoming romance, the death toll rises. Compelled by the carving and the frightening events unfolding, Rook seeks advice from a native Shasta Indian who immediately recognizes the evil artifact.
