Adipose tissue is an active endocrine organ, and it performs many important functions in the body, in which the cells of adipose tissue, called adipocytes, secrete dozens of biologically active molecules (adipokines), which can significantly modulate reactions occurring in the body. It may alter the response of the host to the antigens derived from bacterial plaque, and thus cause disturbances in the inflammatory response in the course of the periodontal disease. And that way Obesity is a complex disease, and its relationship to oral status has been realized by the scientific community in recent years.
