THE SPIRIT The author, Cheever Tyler, began writing with poetry. It started when he lived in San Francisco as a boy. The gentle melody of the Bay and the spirit of the city itself beckoned the passion in the first of his poems. From then on, he wrote his poems when the warm spirit of love crept into his soul again. Later, he began theatrical writing, and wrote three plays, all of which were produced, one in a small theater in New York. He was drawn to writing plays because of the relationship with his characters. At the end, he wrote a short film that was chosen in four film festivals including a small one in Los Angeles. Now he is a recovering lawyer with a strong commitment to public service, and writing poems when love calls.
