Nostalgia Itches like a Bug Bite represents the insects we've grown up around, either exploring or avoiding. This collection captures many feelings, and the motif of bugs is present in each of the poems. Every stanza in part one corresponds to a distinctive free verse piece in part two, and each matching pair is about a particular insect. Upon looking closely at bugs to find meaning, the deeper relatable themes of nostalgia, identity, and empathy may be found.

Autor

Pileigh Anoush Shahinian is a poet and writer from Long Island, New York. "Nostalgia Itches like a Bug Bite" is her first publication, but she has been writing for as long as she has known how to. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in English Adolescent Education with a minor in Religious Studies in May of 2024 from St. Joseph's University in Patchogue, New York. Currently, she is an online graduate student at Concordia University, pursuing her Master's degree in Creative Writing.
