"Anyone but me!" she declares, upon learning that handsome, squeaky clean, movie star, Damian Calloway, has been arrested for sexual molestation, and the court wants probation to prepare a pre-trial report. But the chief probation officer wants no one but Linda to handle the case, and personally assigns it to her. Linda's tumultuous first year as a probation officer is behind her, and she is comfortable in her assignment as an adult court investigator. She's engaged to her college love, David Wyndham, and is certain her life has settled down nicely. Now this! The media is in a frenzy over Calloway's arrest, and everyone involved with the case is a target for their scrutiny. Linda is warned to keep a low profile as she sorts out why Calloway was outside a country bar late at night in San Juan Capistrano, far from his home in Los Angeles.
