The available six-row barley have higher husk and less carbohydrate that results in a poor malt quality. The trial with nitrogen and Sulphur on malt barley varieties conducted at RARI, Jaipur, India suggest that the two-row barley variety RD 2849 with application of 90 kg N ha-1 and 10 kg S ha-1 proved the most efficient and economically viable treatment which was found most effective for better malt quality in terms of all growth parameters (plant height, dry matter accumulation, CGR, RGR).
