Matthew Griffis is associate professor at the University of Southern Mississippi where he teaches in the School of Library and Information Science. He has published on the use of postcards in historical research and presented on New Orleans postcards at the Louisiana Historical Association's annual conference. Griffis saw New Orleans for the first time in 2011 and has since collected over 1,000 vintage postcards of the Crescent City.
