Daniel F. Littlefield, Jr., is director of the Sequoyah National Research Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is author of numerous books, including Seminole Burning: A Story of Racial Vengeance and Africans and Seminoles: From Removal to Emancipation, both published by University Press of Mississippi. In 2014 the Arkansas Historical Association honored him with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his cofounding of the Sequoyah National Research Center and his promotion of Arkansas history. James W. Parins (1939-2013) was professor of English and associate director of the Sequoyah National Research Center at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. Among numerous articles and books about American Indians, he is coeditor of Native American Writing in the Southeast and the Encyclopedia of Indian Removal and author of Elias Cornelius Boudinot: A Life on the Cherokee Border.
