After several years of repeated friendliness and withdrawal on her part, she broke her promise and married another man. The poems tell of his love and persistent pleadings with her. They also demonstrate his emotional state at the time that the poems are written. Most of these poems were given to her to read as soon as they were written.

Autor

Dr. Haddad was born in Palestine to Lebanese parents. He studied medicine in the universities of Cambridge and London. He specialized in neurosurgery in London. He is retired now and lives in the UK.
