Der Hamburger Designgruppe geht es diesemal um das Thema "System". Dazu definiert Mutabor drei konzeptionelle Ansätze, denen jeweils ein Heft gewidmet ist, nämlich: Bild, Wort und Idee. Im ersten Heft, dem farbigen Bildteil mit dem Namen "command shift Wurzel aus Neun", verschmelzen Screenshots zu systematischen Layouts und feiern die grafische Wiedergeburt des guten alten Zauberwürfels. "System9" heißt der Textteil, in dem verschiedene Autoren (Designer, Programmierer, Journalisten) Chancen und Risiken des Themas "System" in ihren Aufsätzen diskutieren. Der dritte Teil heißt "random 9 hoch 3" und ist die Dokumentation eines programmierten Gestaltungsexperimentes mittels zufällig erzeugter Layouts. Ein ästhetisch gepolter Zufallsgenerator wirft die Frage auf, ob auch im Bereich der Ästhetik eine Verselbständigung der Technik denkbar ist.
