This encourages violence and the idealisation of a distorted image of gender. A bibliographical review of the subject was carried out and young people of both sexes aged between eighteen and twenty-five were interviewed. A number of excerpts were chosen from today's popular music, and a study was carried out on the messages presented in the songs and how these messages resonate in society. The research used an analytical-behavioural and psychoanalytical framework, on the basis that these are the most commonly recognised and used approaches in the field of psychology. Through these frameworks, a correlation was established between the two approaches through music, which proved to be widely present and relevant in these theories.
