Shruti De is a multifaceted artist whose talents span music, literature, and science. A distinguished third-generation musician, Shruti has been immersed in the world of Indian classical music from the age of four, mastering the sarod and the rare Mohanveena. She has performed at prestigious venues across India and abroad, earning accolades and the National Scholarship award from the Government of India and US Govt. In the literary realm, Shruti has been writing poetry since she was in the 7th grade. Her work includes published articles on the ethereal confluence of physics and music, as well as science fiction pieces that have captivated readers. Her poetry reflects a deep, contemplative nature, often exploring themes of spirituality and the silent spaces between musical notes. Currently a PhD researcher in experimental physics at the State University of New York, Albany, Shruti balances her academic pursuits with her creative passions. Recently selected as a Musician Fellow by the US Department of State, Cultural Affairs, Shruti continues to innovate internationally in both her musical and literary endeavors. Beyond her achievements, Shruti is an avid photographer and painter, celebrating life through her diverse artistic expressions.
