The increasing trend of work absenteeism and early exit from work life may be as a result of ill health or disability, due to strain and pain at work. This calls for a need to describe perceived strain and pain, and how they relate with perceived work ability, especially on a normal work day. This is essential because jobs need to be designed within the constraints of ergonomic principles so as to meet workers' abilities, perception and limitations.

Autor

Olotu has a background in Food & Industrial Microbiology from Nigeria. His desire to impact humanity led him to pursue a second degree in Public Health at the University of Tampere, Finland. His present research interest is on Promotion of Workers' Health at their Workplace. He is at New Zealand's Institute of Public Policy, AUT University.
