Syed Safi Haider Abidi was born in Rawal Pindi to a religious family. His mother is a well renown speaker/reciter in the majaalis of Imam Hussain. He obtained his bachelors in Political Science in William Paterson University and is currently enrolled in Columbia University and Hartford Seminary. He has studied Islamic studies at the masters level and is pursuing his traditional education with Ayatullah Syed Hossein Sajedi. He currently resides in New Jersey and has been accepted as the Masters in philosophy at Columbia University. Syed Safi Haider is a public speaker and has spoken at various venues for the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and the Progeny of Prophet Muhammad. His main focus on these lectures has been the spiritual and ethical reform of the human being, and he has sited various verses of the Qur'an in this context. In his view, one needs to reform the self before one can reform society.
