Anne "Annie" French Hector, better known by her pen name Mrs. Alexander, was a popular 19th-century novelist born on June 23, 1825, in Dublin, Ireland. Her novels typically explored themes of love, family, money, and societal expectations, with many of her characters facing the challenges of balancing these competing forces, sometimes complicated by a legacy or inheritance.
