She is all alone in the world yet again. Both of her parents are dead and she has no other family to spend the holidays with. She is questioning her choices in life and wonders where she will go now. Kirsten decides to escape to the solitude of her beloved mountains and her retreat in Murray Falls over the two-week school break. She packs her SUV and leaves Lawerence, North Dakota behind in search of some answers. Kirsten's planned quiet get away turns into much more than she could ever have conceived. With the summer tourists long since gone, the all but deserted hamlet of Murray Falls becomes the site of a devastating avalanche.
