Morphometric analysis is a set of methods that describe geometric and compositional aspects of environmental systems. These methods have applications in environmental hydrological studies, when the environment of interest is undergoing changes in parts of its watercourses. Their aim is to clarify issues related to local environmental dynamics, revealing physical indicators and qualifying environmental changes. This study of the morphometric analysis of the Rio Branco-RO sub-basin used Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) images made freely available on the internet. The analysis was based o...
The analysis was based on the geometric characteristics, relief and drainage network based on the Digital Elevation Model (DEM), with the support of the provider TauDEM (Terrain Analysis Using Digital Elevation Models). In addition, slope maps, river hierarchies, soil classification maps, hypsometric maps and land use maps were also produced.
