The greatest percentage improvement was observed in the explosive strength of the lower limbs (vertical expansion).Principal component analysis revealed three factors, in order of importance, which appear to determine the goalkeeper's sporting success:- morphological cues, span and length of thoracic and pelvic limbs and extremities, relatively high weight and height;- physical qualities such as speed and, to a lesser extent, endurance;- good muscle mass.This assessment of soccer goalkeepers is the first step in determining morpho-biometric and physical qualities.
