Naturally occurring boswellic acids which are anti-inflammatory agents are lipophylic in nature and thus become a limiting factor in terms of their bioavailability. Hence for first time succefully prepared water soluble glycosides of 11-keto-beta-boswellic acids. Synthesized novel A-ring modified via second order Beckmann rearrangement compounds from 3-oxo-tircallic acid evaluated for their anticancer activity against human cancer cell lines and discovered that the A-ring modified compounds were showed the improved anticancer activity specially on prostate caner cell line.
