Spray combustion involves atomization of liquid fuel to increase surface area and enhance combustion process. The details of this phenomena are complex and hence not well understood. In order to study this, it is necessary that simple droplet arrangements are considered. In this book, a method of discretizing the space round cylindrical droplets is presented that involves use of an orthogonal mesh generating system. Subsequently, flow governing equations are solved using pressure implicit split operator (PISO) scheme. Three cases considered in the study include; cold flow case, temperature dis...
Three cases considered in the study include; cold flow case, temperature distribution in hot flowing droplet, and hot flow in which there is mass transfer. This analysis is useful to designers of combustion devices as it establishes optimum conditions for efficient combustion.
