Information systems have played a fundamental role in the general context of organizations, whether in streamlining production processes, organizing and archiving documents or even in decision-making. Medicine is also part of this scenario. With these factors in mind, the general aim of this work is to present a model for implementing an information system to optimize diagnostic imaging exams. This model was developed using the latest software production concepts available on the world market, such as: 3-layer development, distributed systems, among others. In the search for an internet-oriented and interoperable product, the system was structured in layers, applying the concept of Model-View-Control, which provides the flexibility needed for development, and makes system maintenance more organized and structured, as the modules are independent. The system was developed using free software tools.
