Sometimes that makes good writing, as seen with the poems, songs and stories that have we have embraced as part of lives. In this day and age, people may or may not understand that love isn't something that we are required to do, but something that happens to us. It will get in the way of plans and change the paths that we walk every day. Though we may not want to go, this feeling that some have called fleeting, is so real and powerful, that we will do anything to feel it, even if it's just for a second. Miles From Love is based on these feelings. Though the entire book is not about love, the running theme in each poem is an emotional reach into a world full of confused emotions. A friend once told me that writing is slitting your wrists and letting the blood flow on to the page, and what you have left is what your heart was beating. So with this first book, the blood in my heart has flowed through my pen and onto the pages in front of you, a living heart on paper.
