Shoot tip and nodal segment explants were used for multiple shoot induction of medicinal plants. Ipomoea turpethum microcultings were rooted most effectively in full MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/l NAA, while Eclipta alba rooted well in half MS containing 0.5 mg/l NAA. Propagated plantlets were successfully acclimatized in soil where they grew normally without showing any morphological abnormalities. In genetic transformation study hygromycin resistant calli and leaf discs of tomato were selected after co-cultivation with Agrobacterium tumefaciens resulted putative transformants.
