Shelby Lewis Jones is a South Florida poet, author and resident who cherishes her subtropical surroundings. Her long association with Miami, both as a former resident and later working in the city has allowed her to understand Miami's many faces, its diversity, beauty and character.During her early Miami years, Shelby became acutely aware of homeless living on the city streets. She admired the strong commitment to "helping the street people" by Camillus House, an organization run by a group of Catholic brothers. They offer not only food and shelter, but medical and employment assistance as well. Shelby has dedicated this work to Camillus House in recognition of the selfless time and energy devoted to those in need.
