The first part of the book describes the genetic characteristics of the potato and its wild relatives. It then goes on to clarify the requirements for modern potato breeding of edible, refined and commercial varieties and the methods used to shorten and refine the breeding process.

Autor

Originaire de Thuringe, Julia Büchner (née en 1982) a travaillé plusieurs années comme technicienne en environnement avant d'étudier les sciences agricoles à l'université Humboldt de Berlin. Elle a terminé ses études en 2017 avec un mémoire intitulé ' Aperçu des méthodes utilisées dans la culture de la pomme de terre depuis 1990 ' (note : 1).
