The uneasy balance between his worlds is shattered when in an ancient burial mound he encounters a human skeleton so enormous it takes his breath away (a Nephilim). He is warned if he tells anyone terrible things will happen and terrible things do. Having a normal life ever again is out of the question as Matt and an alluring, irresistible, fearless Southern small-town girl he meets find themselves in a war against the spirit world. His discovery leads soon to still another. Like everyone he thought ghosts were dead people. He was wrong. They are joined by his cousin, a colorful hip-hop mogul wannabe and her brother, a fierce computer hacker. Things go from terrible to worse when the spirits mobilize to stop the reluctant demon fighters from exposing their meticulously-woven millennia-old ghost ruse. It's all-out war with take no prisoners and rivers of blood. They soon discover the spirits have an even greater and far deadlier secret to protect ─ one having to do with extraterrestrials, who it turns out are not what they claim either. The demon fighters find themselves in a desperate against all odds race against time battling a supernatural foe bent on mankind's destruction. In the end four kids are all that stand between an unsuspecting humanity and an Armageddon hours away. Matt Legend: Veil of Lies is Stranger Things meets Spykids meets Raiders of the Lost Ark. Stranger still it is inspired by real events.
