Foust redshirted in 2004 after having a shoulder injury. He helped the huskers reach the 2005 College World Series his freshman year making 5 relief appearances with 1 save and a 2.57 ERA. He made a no decision start in 2006 with a save and a 3.18 ERA. In 2007, he got plenty of starts going 2-4 and a 4.02 ERA and 7 saves in 27 appearances (6 starts).
