The development of CAD/CAM systems and High Speed Cutting Technology (HSC) have greatly helped to improve the manufacturing of such kinds of dies and mould. However, technological limitations in the CAD/CAM/CNC to produce free form geometries have shown some significant drawbacks. Focusing on this issue, this book presents an overview of HSC technology, cutting forces, tool deflection, CAD/CAM/CNC chain, and the methodologies used by these systems to generate and accomplish complex tool-paths using Spline polynomials.
