Moreover, studies of media coverage of HIV/AIDS conducted in various parts of the world have shown that scant coverage and distorted portrayal are almost the rule of the day. Generally speaking, however, whether the media are using their roles in the prevention of HIV/AIDS effectively remains a subject of scholarly debate. In Ethiopia, imperial information about media coverage of HIV/AIDS is sparse. This book, therefore, provides detailed analyzes of the magnitude and nature of HIV/AIDS coverage in Ethiopian newspapers.
