This collection is part of a larger project, aimed at rediscovering the value and beauty of traditional lullabies from different cultures around the world. Since communicative musicality is one of the first manifestations of intersubjectivity within the mother-child dyad, lullabies may have a potential in creating caring relationships with the listeners. The voice and the harp, due to their innate and symbolic power, are the privileged carriers for these intents. Hence the name of the project: Lullharp. Traditional lullabies are the expression of mothers' emotions, hopes and fears. The author honored the authenticity and complexity of their conflicting feelings, by including in the collection songs that reflect different moods and characters.
