After losing her mother and sister and experiencing first-hand the impact of grief and the lack of support available to young people, Lottie became a passionate supporter of causes relating to mental health. Lottie is a patron of bereavement charity Sue Ryder and has spoken in parliament alongside Dr Rosena Allin-Khan MP about shaping policies to provide more access to grief counselling. In 2022 Lottie became a mother to her son, Lucky Burton.
