Twenty-five pregnant women were selected by non-probabilistic sampling by criteria. Through a descriptive and retrospective study and with a systemic approach in its three dimensions, criteria, indicators and standards were elaborated using the evaluative criteria elaborated by the author and the group of experts. In the contribution of low birth weight, some epidemiological factors were identified, but there are still deficiencies in the care of pregnant women in the process dimension that require immediate solution
