Lord Jesus, I Want to See... is a weekly prayer book to help children and families begin their week right, and encourages them to work on concepts of friendship, faith, love, generosity, forgiveness, and thankfulness. Today's youth are in desperate need of character building and moral guidance; this is key in creating good citizens and a healthy society for the next generation. Unfortunately, due to political correctness and other social trends, moral character and wholesome virtues have taken a back seat to superficial pursuits -- appearance, charm, glamour, fame, social status, and possessions. We must demand and encourage the children of this great nation and its future generations to work on and acquire the qualities and moral characteristics that help them achieve well-being and happiness. Lord Jesus, I Want to See... recognizes that gone are the days that we can demand and require our children to memorize and recite all the traditional prayers. After twenty plus years of service to God's Children, in parishes and seminary, the reflections I share above have culminated in a new format of praying and prayer. The lessons shared are rooted in Holy Scriptures, daily topics, personal experiences, character-building, and practical spiritual exercises. This devotional book is designed to be self-reflecting, easy reading, and guide each child to work on what is truly important while spending time in the presence of Jesus. ~Rev. Peter G. Vu

Autor

I was inspired to write this story after watching the news about children being separated from their parents by our new Immigration policy. This unfortunate news also touches my own nerves. Thirty years ago I sought asylum as a victim of the Viet Nam War after sneaking out of the Communist-controlled country by boat. I had to face lots of danger including prison, hunger, thirst, ocean, sharks, pirates, cannibalism, and so on. Fortunately, I was rescued and brought to a refugee camp in Singapore. However, I was a minor - only fifteen years old - and without any adult with me. I was kept in an orphanage place at the camp. I still remember clearly how I felt when I was led to that place.I know exactly how the children who were caught in our recent Immigration mayhem feel and can relate to them and their families. I was one of them but was blessed to be united with my father and allowed to come to America. I pray that this story brings peace, comfort, and hope to our children no matter what situation they might be in.
