The purpose of this research is to propose a recreational community intervention strategy based on remedial traditions for the occupation of leisure time of older adults belonging to the Combinado Juan Pedro Carbó in the municipality of Remedios. In the theoretical and research background that act as a referential framework for this study, Physical Recreation, Leisure Time and remedial traditions are analyzed. For the development of the study, methods and techniques such as documentary analysis, interview, observation and methodological triangulation are used, which allow determining the potential of teachers' awareness of the need to improve the use of free time and their willingness to do so. However, the conception of physical-recreational activities as well as the poor use of the environment's potentialities were identified as needs. A recreational intervention strategy was designed and implemented in three stages: The creation of the preconditions, the physical-recreational actions and the evaluation and control, which allowed the users to show satisfaction and endorse the applicability of the same.
