For this reason, the present research project, 'Limitations of environmental management in hotel establishments in the district of Cajamarca and a methodological proposal to improve their eco-efficiency', is based on and motivated by the importance that the development of tourism has taken on in recent years at a global, national, regional and local level, as well as by the need to contribute to the care and conservation of the environment through environmental management systems and programmes.
