Lanthanide doped materials (glasses, glass-ceramics and nanocrystals) possess multitude applications which include lasers, optical amplifiers, light emitting devices, optical conversion, solar cells, optical waveguides, display devices and laser cooling of solids due to their excellent optical, thermal, mechanical, chemical, photoluminescence quantum yield, high transparency, low phonon energy properties. The lanthanide ions were emit all the regions from UV-visible to infra-red. Lasing has been tested in 5.0 mol % Nd3+-doped phosphate laser glasses with the best slope efficiency of 40 % at a ...

The lanthanide ions were emit all the regions from UV-visible to infra-red. Lasing has been tested in 5.0 mol % Nd3+-doped phosphate laser glasses with the best slope efficiency of 40 % at a wavelength of 1.05 µm under selective wavelength laser excitation. Spectroscopic and laser properties of Yb3+-doped phosphate glasses have been investigated for solid state laser applications. Ultrafast laser inscription technique has been utilized for the development of 12.5 mm long 3D waveguides in an indigenously developed Eu3+-doped oxyfluoride glass at 1 MHz repetition rate with 1047 nmlaser at different pulse energies.
