The continued neglect and unscientific use of the soil resources for a long time has led to the situation observed at present in the state. So any initiative to solve the problems faced by the areas should also start at farm level only. This alone will help in evolving a rational, site-specific and viable land use options suitable for each and every farm. To achieve this, we need a detailed site-specific farm level database on land resources for all the villages. This book is prepared based on the Ph.D dissertation of the author that attempted to focus on land resources information and land evaluation.
