As production rate is low, the cost of enzyme is very high and is not available to many of the patients. The microbes are a better source of L-Asparginase, because, they can be cultured easily and extraction and purification of L-Asparginase from them is also convenient, vacillating the large scale production. L-Asparaginase is present in many animal tissues, bacteria, plants, and in the serum of certain rodents, but not in mankind.
