It contains all the manufacturer's instructions to run life peacefully and joyfully. The Sermon on the Mount is such a fundamental scripture that can guide us in practical Biblical living. Jesus not only teaches the basic tenets of living a Godly life but also clarifies the nuances of living a life pleasing unto God. Jesus expounds on some of the misunderstood, misinterpreted, and mistaught scriptures from the Torah and the Old Testament. He also dispels certain lies and half-truths such as the allegations that Jesus came to abolish the law. By meditating on the Sermon on the Mount, verse by verse, we can learn quite a lot about Biblical living. I have been preaching the three chapters, chapters 5, 6 & 7, from the Gospel according to Matthew, every week for almost a year, if not more. Yes, that was not a typo - 3 chapters, 111 verses and it took almost a year. And I still sometimes feel, we can meditate more. Such is the depth of God's Word. This book is a small effort executed with God's grace, wisdom, and strength to meditate and understand the Word of God.
