The series premiered on Disney Channel on May 2, 2009, and became available on demand starting April 25, 2009. On November 9, 2009, it was announced that Jonas was picked up for a second season. The series will re-enter production in February 2010 and is expected for a premiere on Disney Channel sometime in Summer 2010. Jonas is the first Disney Channel Original Series (DCOS) since Phil of the Future not to be filmed before a live studio audience or to have a laugh track.
