Janusz urakowski (12 September 1909 9 February 2004) was a renowned Polish fighter and test pilot, who, at various times, lived and worked in Poland, the United Kingdom, and Canada. urakowski was born to Polish parents in 1909 in Ryzawka,which had been a city of the Russian Empire since 1864 when the Russians abolished the Congress Kingdom of Poland. In 1921, following the Polish-Soviet War, the Treaty of Riga established the frontier between Soviet Russia and the Second Polish Republic. The new border placed Ryzawka in Soviet territory and the urakowski family left their home and escaped into the newly established Polish Republic.
