Staudinger 'Corner-pillars of Civil Law” is designed as a steady companion for all lawyers, students, and legal apprentices seeking to gain a deeper insight into the fundamental structures and the systematic coherences of the German civil law code. The 'corner-pillars” procure for the lawyer orientation, clarification and enlightenment with regard to the different parts and parcels into which the German civil law can be subdivided. The volume aims at a high level of structural comprehension and functional understanding; it provides for a profound knowledge of the basic features of the German civil law; it helps to develop an appreciative awareness of the normative backgrounds; and it hereby enables the lawyer to master the daily routine with knowledgeable sovereignty. The more than 20 individual contributions presented by law professors deal with principles, foundations, institutions and interconnections of different fields in a concise and comprehensible manner. Based on an 'Introduction to the German Civil Law Code (BGB)”, the contributions follow mainly the systematic order of the BGB, but are supplemented by cross-sectional chapters.
